Our post-natal staff are all registered nurses and / or midwives. They all have a strong commitment to helping you establish successful breastfeeding.
We aim to provide a restful and stress-free environment. Care will be provided to suit your individual requirements. You can stay for two days and nights, or longer if your midwife considers it necessary.
If you choose to deliver at Waitakere, North Shore or National Women’s Hospitals you can transfer back to Helensville for post-natal care.
Helensville Birthing Centre provides a free service within a community as an alternative to hospital care. It is available seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day.

We welcome your family / whanau to visit. Our day area has cooking facilities, tv and a play area for children. Your partner is welcome to stay overnight (first night only) and may visit at any time. Your own children are welcome to visit between 8 am - 8 pm. All other visitors are asked to visit between 2 pm - 8 pm. For the health and safety of our mothers and babies, no visitors with cold or flu like symptoms are permitted or children (unless they are your own) under the age of sixteen.
Every mother has a private self-contained room with her own toilet and shower facility.
All of our rooms have double beds, TV, phone and specially designed chairs for comfort when feeding. Delivery and post-natal areas are separate.
Meals are served at times to suit you and your baby. We pride ourselves in a wide choice of menu and your preferences can be individually met by our caterer who visits daily.
