Scouts’ Sweet Treat

The Kaukapakapa Scout Group Cubs have turned their community service project into a most welcome treat for the nurses and midwives at the Helensville Birthing Centre.

The Scouts, aged between 8 and 11, spent time measuring and mixing together all the dry ingredients required to make a chocolate cake with icing.

They then labelled the paper bags and delivered the bags of “Crazy Chocolate Cake Mix” to the staff at Helensville Birthing Centre as a thank you for doing their best to give local babies a great start in life.

Scout Cub Leader Jo Wyman-Macer said, “we know these will make the best tasting cakes because they’re made with three very special ingredients, Cub Scouts, Smiles and Kindness.”
